About Me
For many years I was the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Martin of Tours Church. My background, however, is much more varied than this focus on music and liturgy.
Between my degree in music therapy and my career as a musician, I took a detour and earned a Ph.D. in Research Psychology, emphasizing Human Cognition. As a doctoral student and later a post-doc I taught both in the Psychology Department and in the Department of Education. Some relevant courses that I taught included Human Motivation, Classroom Management, and Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences. I changed directions upon the birth of my first child and pursued a career in music. I homeschooled my children for decades, and they still are grateful and bring up their educational opportunities that prepared them so well for college and allowed them to attend on scholarships. Most importantly though, I instilled a love of learning and created a joyful learning environment. The most important part of our home school journey was in creating loving relationships with our children. |
